About Me

I’m Jessica, an Excel trainer and consultant based in Bristol, in the UK.

I’ve been an accountant for more than twenty years but my first proper job was as an English language teacher. I still use techniques that I learned in that role to make sure my training is effective and fun.

My accountancy career has taken me through public sector audit and accounting, and then to senior roles in the private and charitable sectors. Throughout this, training other people has been a constant thread and something I’ve always enjoyed doing.

I’m passionate about technology and always want to make better use of it – and encourage others to do the same.

Technology doesn’t have to be big or complex. While I have worked on large systems implementations, it’s often possible to make significant efficiencies through better use of existing office technology.

I bring real examples of using Excel and Power Query to automate accounting transactions and reporting into my training courses and into my consultancy.

You can find out more about my approach and philosophy from my blog, where I share thoughts, tips and experiences about a whole range of finance related subjects.
