I provide bespoke Excel training to teams and individuals.
How I design a bespoke Excel course for you
I’ll have an initial call with you to understand what you want to achieve from your Excel training.
If the training is for a team, I’ll send out questionnaires to all potential delegates to get a better understanding of their existing skills and experiences and their motivations.
Based on the call, the questionnaire and my experience, I will then propose an outline syllabus to you. Once you’re happy with that, we’ll book a date and I’ll plan the training.
You might have very specific issues or problems that you want me to address. For example, for a recent Excel course for auditors, I included specific material on common errors in Excel and formula evaluation.
How I deliver your Excel training
Usually I deliver a day’s training on your premises in groups of up to 12 people.
I can also do online training, and I can also arrange training room hire in Bristol at a couple of different price points depending on your budget.
Whether online or in person, my training is always based in practical examples with opportunities to practice what we’ve learned. I prepare a range of material so that I can adapt on the day. And there are always opportunities to ask questions to make it relevant.
Jess delivered a full day of Excel training to our team who have hugely varied experience and skill levels. The training was very well organised and perfectly paced.
Jessica Hodge, Chief Executive Officer, Emmaus Bristol
People who have been using Excel for decades learned better, more efficient ways of working, and people with little experience learned how to use it correctly from the off.
Team members were so engaged, people who had only signed up for the morning session ended up staying for the whole day.
For a small investment in training, we will now be able to work more efficiently and effectively in Excel, which ultimately will save time and money for our small charity.
I’d recommend the Happy Finance Team for any organisation who wants to make better use of Excel.
Why you should train your team in Excel
In my experience, you make much greater gains and efficiencies if the whole team has a good foundation in Excel, rather than if you train one or two experts. Efficient Excel use is rooted in sound data structures and good practice.
Training as a team means you can also reinforce the learning long after the training course has finished.
And of course, it’s great value for money!
How much does bespoke Excel training cost?
Usually I charge £850 to design, plan and deliver a day’s training (plus reasonable travel expenses). I offer discounts to charities and not for profits.
If there is a requirement for repeat training (for example for rolling out a course across a whole company) then additional days are charged at £600 per day.
There are also other options. For example, Excel training could be combined with Excel consultancy where I help you solve a problem and then train you in how I did it.
